We should always have open discussions about this kind of stuff.  It's how we grow, learn and get better.

What do you think about "happiest baby"?

http://www.regardingbaby.org/2012/05/05/is-the-happiest-baby-on-the-block-the-most-oppressed-why-im-not-a-fan-of-the-5-s-method-of-calming-crying-babies/

My thoughts:  The happiest baby on the block is the one who has a secure attachment to her parents and does not experience undue stress.  This baby never has to "cry it out".

I am aflutter this afternoon.  There are a few reasons.  One: I was attacked via Facebook for a link I posted regarding Mayim Bialik's new book "Beyond The Sling".  I posted the link and stated a fact.  That was all.  The article was read by some, and they inferred that I do and practice everything in that book/article.  I do not, but everything Mayim Bialik stands for is biologically correct for humans.  I guess I had it coming.  I feel icky (for lack of a better word) about it.  I think I get scared/upset/guilty when someone challenges what I believe and or practice when it comes to mothering.  I guess I need to woman up in regard to my beliefs.

Two:  M and V are a lovely couple that I know.  They are women.  They are six weeks pregnant!  M is carrying the bebeh, the donor dad is V's brother!  The bebeh will have both parents DNA!  #TWOMOMSFTW! <3
